WHO CAN PROTECT YOU AND YOUR FAMILY — AND WIN?

I know you're fed up with politics as usual. Me too.
For too long, too many insiders have looked after themselves instead of the people they're supposed to serve.
You deserve better. But nothing changes if nothing changes.
The Attorney General isn't supposed to answer to donors, political parties, or special interests.
But you all know what happens when money gets in the middle of things....
The Attorney General is supposed to answer to only YOU the Rule of Law.
That's who THE LAW actually says the Attorney General works for.
We are all equal in the eyes of the law—or at least that's how it's supposed to be.
Because when the law protects only some people and not others...
...that "other" could be you!
As your Attorney General, I work only for YOU and The Rule of Law.
That means protecting what matters most to you:
Your family.
Your rights.
Your money.
Our natural resources.
That means standing up to corruption, consumer fraud, violent crime, polluters, and powerful interests that put profits, politics, or power above the people they're supposed to serve.
For thirty years, that's exactly how I've practiced law.
When ordinary people like you needed help against powerful institutions, corporations, insurance companies, or even government itself, my job was simple.
Stand beside my client.
Fight like hell.
Hold people accountable.
Seek justice.
That's the job of the Attorney General.
And that's exactly how I'll fight for you.
My no-money pledge is the guarantee that nothing will stop me.
So yes, I'm a Democrat.
But as your Attorney General, there won't be Democratic justice or Republican justice.
There will only be justice.
And The Rule of Law.
You know I mean it because I don't take donations.
Not from PACs.
Not from corporations.
Not from special interests.
I'm not financing my own campaign either.
Because money changes everything.
This campaign belongs to YOU and to these principles.
If you want an Attorney General who answers only to YOU and the Rule of Law, I would be honored to earn your vote.
Let's make this happen.
— Richard
But let justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream. — Amos 5:24

You lock the door at night. You check on your kids. Keeping the people you love safe never leaves your mind.
It won't leave mine either - keeping you safe is my first and highest duty as your Attorney General.
Here's exactly how I'll do it:
FIRST, I'LL BACK THE PEOPLE WHO KEEP YOU SAFE (Because I Know How) .
The officers on your street and the solicitor in your county stand between you and the people who would do you harm. The Attorney General's job is to make them stronger and better at doing just that.
The SC Fraternal Order of Police wanted to know how we would help them do their jobs.
You decide who knows what to do.
I'll put the full legal firepower of this office behind them — with training, rapid legal support, and the backup they need to keep your community safe.
And I'll open the lines of communication. Our officers and agencies shouldn't have to wait for permission to get legal help — my office will be directly available to them, and I'll defend the rights and protections they're owed. When an officer-involved case demands independent review, I'll bring statewide consistency — and where conflicts or public trust require it, my office will step in. As a law professor, I've taught law enforcement — I know what a difference it makes when officers have the legal knowledge and resources they need, right when they need them.
SECOND, I'LL LEAD — like the private-sector leader I am.
For 30 years I've run a law firm that only survives by delivering results and winning. I know numbers the way only an accountant can, I know how to manage, and I know how to get results. I'll bring those private-sector skills to the office's own staff attorneys and prosecutors — making sure they have what they need to keep you safe and that they win.
And I'll bring this office into the 21st century: using modern data and analytics to put our resources — and your tax dollars — where the threats are greatest. A smarter, data-driven office delivers greater safety, without costing you more.
THIRD, I'LL DEMAND ACCOUNTABILITY — from everyone.
When anyone in government breaks the law or violates the public trust, I'll hold them accountable — because I answer only to you. Corruption stands no chance — my accountant's eye will catch it, along with the waste, fraud, and abuse wherever it hides.
And my actions as an attorney prove my word — because the Rule of Law applies to everyone. When a government housing authority broke the law, I held it accountable. When a Charleston County deputy killed a mother and her two daughters, I took that fight all the way to the United States Supreme Court, challenged a thirty-year precedent, and won for that family.
That's what an Attorney General is supposed to do — and exactly what I'll do for you.

You know the feeling. The phone rings again — another debt collector on a bill you don't owe. A medical bill shows up for hundreds of dollars, and no one can tell you why. You did everything right, and somehow you're the one who is stuck, scared, and on the hook.
Not all bad guys carry guns.
It's not just you. You know it's happening to your neighbors and families all over South Carolina — good people getting squeezed by people who are betting you can't afford to fight back.
Right now, if you asked the AG's office for help, they would just send you somewhere else — as their own website says, the office "does not investigate debt collectors" and "does not handle policy, claim, warranty, or billing issues." Other states and their AGs don't treat people this way — they go after these companies and win the money back.
And here are more bad guys I will look into and go after if they violate the Rule of Law, same as other AGs:
Every one of them is another bad guy reaching into your pocket or harming you — and every one of them is exactly who I've spent 30 years fighting. Fighting for YOU, what's right, and going after big corporate bad guys is exactly my kind of fight — and it's exactly what I will do for you as YOUR Attorney General.
And I'll protect your tax dollars, too.
For too long, South Carolina has watched public officials treat public office like a personal piggy bank — with millions in state legal work being steered to politically connected insiders.
That's YOUR MONEY being spent!
I'm built to protect you and stop all of this. I spent years as an accountant before I ever became a lawyer — I can read the books, follow the money, and find the fraud, waste, and abuse that others miss. And because I take no donations and owe no favors, no one gets a free pass — not even the insiders.
I'll make them answer to you. Because I answer to no one but you and the Rule of Law.

Picture the place that's yours — the beach you grew up on, the river you fish, the marsh at the end of the road. Now picture it fouled and filled with warning signs.
Our rivers, our marshes, our beaches — they're OURS. Yours and mine. And the inheritance of our children. So is the water we drink, the seafood we eat, and the air we breathe. These are God-given gifts, and they need protection from the polluters and big businesses that would exploit them for profit.
And the threats are everywhere — and growing. Plastic pellets — nurdles — are washing into our marshes and Charleston Harbor. And microplastics don't stay in the water — they end up in the fish and shrimp we catch, and on the family dinner plate. Toxic chemicals are being dumped into the same rivers we drink from. It doesn't have to be this way.
Our beaches and our wildlife can't defend themselves. Their guardian — the Attorney General — has the power to win these fights. Yet it's mostly nonprofits and volunteers left defending what's ours, fighting as David against corporate Goliaths. Even Texas's Attorney General is going after nurdle polluters. And South Carolina? Nothing. And now there's yet another threat: giant data centers moving in to drain the water our families and farms depend on.
Who do you trust to take on the giant corporate bad guys, defend our resources, and win? Standing up for those who have no voice — against the biggest corporate wrongdoers — and winning is exactly what I've done for over 30 years. I know who I'm fighting, how to fight them, and who and what I'm fighting for: South Carolina, and everyone in it. And don't forget — our beaches and rivers aren't just beautiful, they're the engine of our economy, drawing billions in tourism. But most of all, I know how sunsets on open water make us feel, and I know damn well a data center never felt what you and I feel for our South Carolina.
ENOUGH!
On Day One, I'll make the will of the People felt and heard. I'll wield the full force of the Rule of Law to take down polluters — no matter how big — protect our water, and defend the very places that make us who we are and make South Carolina home.
